An additional privilege of the recognition of my Italian citizenship is that I now have the right to vote in Italian national elections. Today I had my appointment at the Italian consulate in Houston to present my documentation to claim my Italian citizenship.
It went far better than I could have expected.
The consulate is located on the 6th floor of the Wells Fargo Tower on Post Oak Boulevard in Houston. I arrived about a half-hour early for my 9:00 am appointment. Unfortunately, they do not actually open until 9:00 am, so I and seven other people also …

Well, I have managed to book an appointment with the Italian Consulate in Houston to present my claim to Italian citizenship. If you follow the way the Italian government handles these things, getting this appointment is itself no small feat. Well, the process leading to recognition of my Italian citizenship continues to move forward. (See this post for some background information, if you don’t know what I’m talking about.)
