Interactive Online Programmer. 1990-present.

Design, test, deploy, maintain, and support World Wide Web sites and other interactive online services for clients. Extensive experience with HTML and Perl coding in both UNIX and Windows NT environments. Additional experience with Javascript, Flash, Java, MySQL, etc. Design emphasis is on ease of use, cross-browser compatibility, and interactivity. Creation of Web-based "administrative" programs to allow client employees to maintain online services via their Web browsers, without requiring technical knowledge on their part.

Senior Web Developer (1999-2000), Texas Network Services, Texarkana, Texas: Senior Web designer and programmer for local networking and Web development company, specializing in interactive Web sites for businesses.

Sysop (1990-1997), Genie Online Service, General Electric Corporation, Rockville, Maryland: Managed a variety of interactive online services under contract to General Electric Company (through 2/96) and IDT Corporation (after 2/96). Responsibilities included: planning and implementation of online and offline promotions in cooperation with Genie Product Marketing staff; supervision of forum staff and assistants; organization, supervision, and maintenance of forum bulletin boards, software libraries, online conferences, and other services; organization of special online events; custom programming of interactive features; and related tasks. Received "GEnieMakers" Award for Outstanding Achievement in Industry Involvement, 1994.

Category Manager (1995-1996), Microsoft Network - MSN, Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington: Assisted in the organization and management of approximately 20 special-interest forums on the Microsoft Network, under contract to Microsoft Corporation. Responsibilities included: Preparing online forums for the initial launch of MSN in August, 1995; assisting Forum Managers with their duties; serving as liaison between MSN supervisory staff and contracted Forum Managers; conducting monthly online meetings of Category and Forum managers; maintenance of non-contracted Forums (those which had no Forum Manager); and related tasks.


Independent Musician/Songwriter. 1995-present. Compose, arrange, and record music. Have licensed music to stage, film, TV, and DVD projects. Freelance writer: Have written articles for The Progressive, Business NH, Black Elegance, American Astrology, Dell Horoscope, Llewellyn Sun-Sign Book, and numerous local, in-house, and organizational publications. Topics have included the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, mutual fund investing, marketing, publishing, and astrology.

Author of Astrology: A New Age Guide (Quest Books, 1983), an examination of astrological symbolism in terms of esoteric philosophy.

Monthly columnist for American Astrology magazine, 1987-1998.

Managing Editor (1979) and State Government Correspondent (1978-79) for Harrisburg Magazine (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania). Responsibilities as Managing Editor included complete supervision of editorial, production, marketing, and advertising staff for regional monthly newsmagazine. As State Government Correspondent, researched and wrote articles on Pennsylvania state government and politics.


Astrological Consultant. 1980-1995.

Professional astrologer, private practice: Conducted professional practice of astrology for international clientele. Part-time from 1980-1988, full-time from 1988-95. Specialized in natal astrology/personal counseling and electional astrology. Lectured for a variety astrological and non-astrological groups, both locally and nationally. Have been interviewed for newspaper, radio, and television about astrology. Elected to board of international non-profit astrological organization, 1992-94. Served as Chair of Media Watch Committee, the organization's interface with the media and the public.


Legislative Aide - Word Processor (1984-1988), New Hampshire House of Representatives, House Committee Services, Concord, New Hampshire: Responsibilities included drafting, revising, proofreading, and typing correspondence, legislation, and other written materials for members of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, under the supervision of the Director of Committee Services, Speaker's Office.


Registered Representative (1987-1988), Chubb Securities Corporation, Concord, New Hampshire: Mutual fund sales: Responsibilities included client solicitation, financial planning/advising, and similar activities. National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Series 6/63 certification.


Computer and Programming Experience: Have worked extensively with personal computer systems since the mid-1980's. Have worked extensively with online services development, management, and promotion since 1990. Languages include the various "BASIC" dialects (Applesoft, QuickBasic, Visual Basic, etc.); HTML; UNIX shell programming; and Perl. Experience with customizing and implementing CGI programs and Java applets into Web sites.

Familiar with PC setup, installation, and configuration, including DOS and Windows setup; modem and communications issues; computer viruses and virus security; PC diagnostics and maintenance.

Clerical/Office Experience: Have worked in a variety of office/clerical positions, generally on a temporary basis (1-12 months each), including legal, chiropractic, and real estate offices. Typing speed approximately 70 words per minute. Familiar with data entry, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
